A Community with a Vision
The Spring Run Charitable Foundation (SRCF) was established in 2008 by a small group of Spring Run Golf Club residents who believed that a successful community should also be a caring community. They recognized that many families in nearby Lee and Collier Counties struggled with educational, medical, and basic human service needs, particularly those affecting children. Rather than directing charitable giving beyond Southwest Florida, the founders embraced a simple philosophy:
“Keeping It Local.”
Building a Tradition of Giving
That guiding principle has remained the Foundation’s hallmark since its inception. On November 3, 2008, the Foundation was incorporated as a Florida not-for-profit corporation. It later received recognition from the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3), allowing contributions to be tax deductible.
From the beginning, the Foundation was designed to be entirely volunteer-driven. Residents organized fundraising events, secured sponsors, recruited volunteers, and evaluated grant requests all with the goal of helping neighbors in need.
What began as a modest charitable effort quickly evolved into one of the defining organizations within the Spring Run community.

Supporting Local Charities
The Foundation’s mission has remained remarkably consistent since 2008. to improve the educational, health, and medical well-being of residents of Lee and Collier Counties, with particular emphasis on children, by providing grants to qualified charitable organizations.
Each year the Board carefully evaluates grant requests from local nonprofits whose work aligns with the Foundation’s mission.
As the Foundation grew, so did its impact. What began with grants totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars has expanded into more than $2 million awarded to local charities since the Foundation’s inception. Those grants have supported organizations addressing hunger, children’s health, education, literacy, veterans, seniors, emergency assistance, and other essential community services.
Investing in Education
Recognizing that education changes lives, the Foundation later established the Spring Run Charitable Foundation Scholarship Fund. The scholarship program assists Spring Run Golf Club employees and their dependent children in pursuing college, university, graduate school, and technical education. Since its creation, the scholarship program has awarded more than $150,000 to deserving students based upon academic achievement and financial need.
A Volunteer Organization
One of the Foundation’s greatest strengths has always been its volunteers. Every fundraiser, committee meeting, sponsorship, publicity effort, grant review, scholarship evaluation, and special event has depended upon residents willing to give their time and talents. Generations of Board members, committee members, volunteers, sponsors, and donors have built an organization whose success reflects the generosity of the entire Spring Run community.
