Congratulations Michael Wenk

The SRCF Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce that Michael Wenk will receive a SRCF Scholarship of $7,500 for the 2025-26 school year. Michael is a student at the FGCU School of Golf Management and is currently an intern in the Spring Run Golf Shop and Cart Barn. He is preparing for a future career in the golf industry, with a focus on PGA Golf Management and Marketing. The Director of the PGA Golf Management Program at FGCU writes, “Michael is an exemplary student who consistently exhibits integrity, responsibility, and a strong work ethic in both his studies and his interactions with others.” In addition to his strong academic background and passion for golf, Michael is deeply committed to serving others. He recently traveled to Bolivia on a church mission trip, where he helped support struggling children and families at an orphanage in Cochabamba. Michael will spend his summer as a golf intern at the Yellowstone Club in Montana. He hopes to be able to return to Spring Run next season.

Key People

The original committee included Dr. McTarnaghan as chair, Carol Lutkiewicz, Kathy Horvath, Kelley Butler, Ron Klocke and Tony Schmidt. The mission of this committee was to develop the criteria for awarding funds from the SRCF Scholarship Committee. Agreeing scholarship denotes merit, SRCF Scholarship criteria is based on need and academic achievement.

Carol Lutkiewicz now serves as the chair of the committee and works closely with committee members Patrick Welsh, Jacquelyn Gawronski, Ann Hindelong and Kathy Horvath who serves as the SRCF Board liaison. This committee respects and appreciates the financial contributions of Spring Run’s generous membership as they seek to help scholarship recipients in the pursuit of Excellence not the pursuit of Mediocrity.
