MAKE A DIFFERENCE THIS SUMMER!

Life is different at Spring Run and in SW Florida during the off-season. We get earlier tee times, take advantage of reciprocals, shopping is not congested, and you can drive anywhere in half the time.  Unfortunately, those lazy, crazy, hazy days of summer have an impact on many of the charities Spring Run Charitable Foundation supports.  Our charities’ volunteer pool drops but the needs for those volunteers do not.  If you are looking for something to do this summer particularly when course is closed and it’s too hot for bocce and tennis, volunteer your time for a good cause.

Below are links to our charities who need volunteers. It’s all about giving.

SRCF Charities

A.N.A.’s Friends serves Abused Neglected and Abandoned children in Southwest Florida. More than half are under age five. Spanning from newborn to teenager, these children have unique physical, social/emotional, educational, and normalcy needs. Children typically remain in the foster care system for a year or longer and cannot return home to their parents until the court allows. While childhood is fleeting, each day feels like a lifetime to a child waiting to go home. These children need community, caregiver, and peer support to know their value and reach their full potential. https://www.anasfriends.org/volunteer.

ICSL is committed to serving the residents of South Fort Myers, Estero, and San Carlos Park. The food pantry, providing healthy food options, is their main program. In addition, ICSL provides a financial assistance program that pays utility bills, rents and mortgages for clients. They offer English as a second language for adults’ classes, a Pre-K reading program, summer lunch program for children under 18 and assistance in registering for the (SNAP) program as well as Medicaid. https://www.icslee.org/volunteer.

Harry Chapin Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief nonprofit and the only Feeding America member in Southwest Florida. They distribute donated food and other grocery products through our food distribution programs, feeding more than a quarter of a million people who are hungry each month! Harry Chapin Food Bank networks with many of SRCF other charities to assure their clients are served. https://harrychapinfoodbank.org/take-action/give-time/volunteer

Feed Thy Neighbor was formed to alleviate hunger through the gathering and distribution of food and prepared meals. They do not want anyone, especially children, to go to bed hungry regardless of their circumstances. To volunteer call  (239) 200-8141

New Horizons of SWFL is changing the lives of under-resourced K-12 students through tutoring, mentoring and character-building experiences. Every day volunteers are making a direct impact in the lives of hundreds of students in our community. As a volunteer-driven organization, New Horizons accepts and encourages volunteer involvement at all levels of the organization. https://newhorizonsofswfl.org/become-a-volunteer.
